Romania
Swedish furniture retailer IKEA, which entered the Romanian market last spring, intends to open next year its first store in Era Shopping Park, being still under construction in Iasi, Romania, ZF reports. The contract between the developer and retailer on a 24,000 sq. m outlet will be completed soon, well informed real estate sources confirm.
Belgian company BelRom Real Estate will open in December 2008 the first retail park in Vrancea, Romania, called European Retail Park Focsani, a €60 million investment. European Retail Park Focsani has a total usable space of nearly 44,600 sqm. Further, the complex has a parking lot for 1,500 cars, Romanian media indicate. The shopping center will include a 12,500 sqm Carrefour hypermarket, a 9,800 sqm Bricostore outlet, a 3,500 sqm Media Galaxy store, a 5,000 sqm Staer hypermarket and a 3,000 sqm Cinema City.
