The next year will be very challenging for Czech Republic. This is predominately because of the global crisis that is becoming increasingly felt and also as the country will be stepping into the EU spotlight by taking over the presidency of the organisation for the first half of the year.
So, how is Czech Republic preparing to fight the crisis and what can we expect in 2009?

In the opinion of the Prime Minister, Miroslav Topolanek,
'the Czech financial system remains relatively isolated from the global financial crisis, although certain impacts have gradually started to occur'
