While all the attention is currently focused on the booming property market in Slovakia, one significant development has escaped the attention.

Trnava is no longer Slovakia's second most expensive city, a position it has held behind Bratislava since 2004.

Most of the wealth in Slovakia is concentrated in Bratislava, so it was widely anticipated that the closest city to the capital would be the first to experience any ripple effect in rising property prices.

Yet the current boom in the Slovakian property market appears to have passed Trnava when we compare the rate of increase (11%) with every other city in Slovakia (20+ %) .
