Albania is increasingly becoming more popular as an investment location and the number of foreign companies selling property in the country is on the rise.
So, what's the risk and reward of investing in Albania?
The Albania property market is clearly divided into the cities and the coast.
Such a division is characteristic for almost every country with a coastline, think Bulgaria or Turkey, for example.
It is essential to analyse those markets separately as they are characterised by different factors like type of buyers, choice of products, rental market and exit plan. Consequently, the property investment opportunities also vary.
In general, Albania represents three types of investment opportunity: cities (currently dominated by Tirana), resorts and land.
