We property investors have had some pretty timely reminders recently about not getting carried away in our search for the next hotspot. Unless we take careful stock, there is a clear risk that we may indeed find a hotspot we never bargained for!

To me, all the events above are a useful reminder that as investors we should always keep our eye on some fundamental characteristics before we pile in with our hard earned cash.
