More than 350,000 people a year are emigrating from the UK each year, which according to statistics, is a record 30 per cent rise in the last 10 years.

So what do they know that we don't?

Other than the obvious benefits of moving to sunnier climes, leaving the UK for a place in the sun may have more to offer than purely the opportunity for an all year round sun tan.
