Earlier this year the Woolwich's survey of home moving costs found that the price of moving home has grown rapidly in recent years.
This could explain why there is a scarcity of property coming onto the market and why many home owners in the non-investor market are often more prepared to expand homes up, down or sideways rather than move on into a bigger one.
Costs up 180% in six years!
For example, the average transaction costs facing first time buyers are up by over 90% since the start of the decade.
