UK property prices rose at the highest rate for two years in July, with gains seen across all areas, according to figures from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
The RICS survey basically reports the balance of chartered surveyors' opinions and experiences of the property market and how it is moving.
31% more Chartered Surveyors reported a rise than fall in July, up from 28% in June.
RICS estate agents reported all regions experienced price rises for the first time in more than two years. But there are wide differences in price rises between areas.
As demand for property grows and fewer instructions are coming to market, surveys remain generally upbeat about property prices over the next three months and the recent quarter point rise in interest rates is not expected to slow the market in the short term.
