Although many people may never have heard of the market town of Chesham in the Chiltern Hills, they have probably seen it on television.
It has been a prime location for the 'Inspector Morse' series and, more recently, episodes of 'Midsomer Murders' were filmed there.
It is probably its quaintness that attracted TV directors - and this is also certainly one of the reasons it has appeared on the Halifax's 'Hidden Gem' list of the top ten best-value property locations in the UK.
Chesham is the fourth largest town in Buckinghamshire, having some 23,000 inhabitants. It nestles amongst farmland in the picturesque Chess Valley with Bellingdon, Amersham and Bovingdon close-by.
