While attention has been focused elsewhere in the Czech Republic, Hradec Kralove has announced its arrival on the property map.
Hradec Kralove lies at the centre of a fertile area of the Czech Republic known as the 'Golden Road'. It has a relatively small population of just under 100,000 compared to the nearest big city, which happens to be the capital, Prague.
The extension to the D11 motorway has recently added a very different kind of golden road to a key investment location. Improved connections to the capital and plans to expand the motorway network to other major cities in the Czech Republic have led a rapid increase in property prices in Hradec Kralove.
Recently major European property developers Orco announced that the second phase of their latest major residential development in the city (Plachta) had sold out. This is a clear indication of the same appetite for modern new-build apartments we have seen elsewhere in the Czech Republic.
