With the property and mortgage markets in such disarray at the moment, and the press filled with doom 'n' gloom stories and predictions, it's hardly surprising that some of us are having a few sleepless nights, while others are looking to get out of property all together, before the smelly stuff really hits the air-cooling device.

So I was struck recently by an email I received from Ajay Ahuja, a big property investor, saying that he'd just revised his deal target upwards for the year. He was originally planning on adding 100 more properties to his portfolio; now, his target is 400!

Is he mad? Is he massively optimistic? Or does, he, perhaps, know something that the rest of us are missing?

So I called him up to find out.
