New Hyundai plant to transform local Czech economy

The opening of the Hyundai plant in the Czech Republic later this year is set to transform the local economy.

The image on the right show the plant currently under construction in Novosovice, 10km south of the city of Ostrava in the region of Moravia Silesia in Czech Republic. Trial production will commence this September with mass production of cars starting off in Q1 2009.

The panoramic view of the site incorporates the entire Hyundai plant which will employ up to 3,000 employees in the following divisions: Assembly Shop (employing 1,420 employees), Transmission Shop (350 employees), Paint Shop (470 employees), Welding Shop (280 employees), Stamping Shop (70 employees), Administration (960 employees).

Next to the Hyundai plant is the Ostrava Hrabová Business Park that is already attracting ancillary services to support the massive Hyundai investment.
