North Wales is not generally a region associated with serious property investment but it is precisely for this reason that it might be one to watch, writes Sue Kelbrick .

It has long been an area popular with holiday home buyers but other than this, has seen little activity from outside investors.

However in recent years there has been a slow but definite influx of people moving into the area from cities such as Liverpool, Chester and Manchester. There is growing investment in the region and a number of new build developments are beginning to spring up.

Bellway Homes has built a new development of two, three and four bedroom homes at St Mabons Field on the outskirts of Wrexham ; Redrow Homes has a development at Ty Newydd also near Wrexham and George Wimpey , Barratt and Morris Homes also have new sites in the North Wales region.

One interesting development from local company Roscom Properties is a barn conversion at the Grade II listed Boras Hall Court near Wrexham with offers in the region of £450,000 being accepted. Click here for more information.
