Some properties should be avoided at all costs and others will have negative factors that may warrant your looking elsewhere.

These include:

Properties with major structural problems (e.g. drains or foundations.) Unless you are experienced, it could take too long to repair and mean that you have to carry much heavier finance costs.

Property in depressed areas. With growing unemployment or stagnant wage inflation (remember growth in incomes is a key component to property price rises). Without income growth, property prices will remain very flat.
