Purchasing in Prague - And the EU card experience

Purchasing in Prague - And the EU card experience
28th August 2007

My wife and I are just back from a two day trip Prague where we are buying one of two overseas properties, both with the assistance of Property Secrets and their partners.

We have opted to buy one property in Katowice, Poland (Oak Terraces) and one in Prague (Old Brewery) to balance risk and compare the buying process.

So far the news from Prague is very positive and I wanted to share my experience with other readers who may be buying, or considering buying, in the Czech Republic.

To buy in the Czech Republic each named owner needs to gain an EU Card (effectively a temporary residence visa) from the Foreign Police and this was the primary reason for our visit.

The process was, I am pleased to say, relatively painless, and this was largely down to the excellent support that we received from Star Capital Finance and their legal partners, NWD Legal.
