While some investors may have got their fingers burnt in the ski resorts of Bansko and in Bulgaria's coastal regions, it is quite a different story in the capital city - Sofia.

Boom time is coming to Sofia where there's a huge, unmet demand for modern housing.

We are forecasting growth of around 20-25% in Sofia in 2008.

And, unlike Bulgaria's coastal regions and ski resorts, the property market in the capital is being driven by the domenstic market - not foreign buyers - thereby drasticastically reducing the risk of oversupply. And this also means that you largely avoid the risk of there being virtually no secondary market - which has been the problem on the coast.
