UK Property: Buy to let mortgages - what's on the market now?
29th December 2008
By Tony Booth
With no one selling, no one buying and only a few worthwhile mortgage products available in the market, it's little wonder many of us are quite happy to see the back of 2008.
It's been a tough year. Most are predicting the first half of 2009 could be even tougher and what government does (if anything) to kick-start a recovery will be crucial to how the market performs later on.
In the meantime, many investors are standing firm - while others see a window of opportunity to expand, buying into the potentially lucrative glut of distressed properties.
The financial markets are in chaos. Lenders are uncertain about where the future will take them, so most are standing motionless in the shadows of their potential customers.
