It's only a few weeks since I last explored how the crunch was affecting the UK financial sector.

But if a week is a long time in politics, a month is currently a lifetime in the buy-to-let mortgage market. Things are changing on a daily basis ... and not yet for the better!

Perhaps the only good thing about the current situation is that scouring the market for good deals takes less time - but that is only because there are fewer products and fewer deals available.

Last year the market was huge. There were around 3,600 products specifically tailored for the buy-to-let (BTL) investor.
