We at Property Secrets often talk of the "emerging middle class" and their demand for luxury housing. So what does a middle class professional in Slovakia look for in a property? And what is the attitude to buying? Slovakia based businesswoman Lucia Hencělová gives us the answers...

Lucia Hencělová lives and works in Trencin, Western Slovakia where she is the managing director and owner of recruitment company, Universal Consulting. The company was established in 2002 and since that time, 30 year old Lucia has experienced first-hand the transformation of the country's economy and its property market.

From the perspective of a recruitment company how is the employment market in Slovakia? Are there more or less jobs available now?

Well, as our company provides Slovak personnel for work abroad and to the UK also, I have better idea of the number of Slovak people interested in working abroad.... But certainly Slovakia's entry into European Union has secured more international investment and this has helped create more employment opportunities for Slovaks. The level of unemployment has fallen dramatically in Slovakia since 2004.
