Ideally, you should have a clear end-point in mind. Where do you want this portfolio-building road to lead to, ultimately?
There are likely to be goals that are closer to hand, however, and you should ask yourself...
- What are your goals?
- What do you need to earn?
- How many properties will it take to make that?
You have all you need to answer these questions. It may take some time and some soul-searching before you come up with the answers that feel right and true for you, but the answers are already within you.
However, it may be useful to run through an example of the sort of process that will lead you to some answers.
