New research claims street names are key signs of social class, personal wealth and the age of the people living in them, as well as the type of properties they contain.
Just fun and interesting - or useful tool for property investors?
Perhaps a bit of both.
The research, entitled 'How the British have named their streets: Lessons in Geography and History', analysed the names of some 700,000 residential streets in the UK.
It looked at both the first part of a street name (such as the 'Coronation' in 'Coronation Street' and the 'Albert' as in 'Albert Square'), and the second element (such as the 'Street' and the 'Square').
