Welcome to the science of Snagging, writes David Lawrenson.
Snagging is the term used by the building industry for the process of finding and then fixing things that are wrong with a property.
All builders have some kind of snagging checklist, but despite their efforts, many mistakes still come through.
One snagging firm, Inspector Home, found that in 2005, of the new homes they looked at, there was an average of 62 snags, a figure that has been more or less consistent since they started their analysis five years ago.
And this was despite the fact that 95% of the homes they looked at had been signed off by the NHBC!
