We are now leaving Romania and heading down to Varna, Bulgaria, before heading back towards Austria via Sofia, Belgrade in Serbia, Zagreb in Croatia and (possibly) Ljubjlana in Slovenia.

However, this is where I say good bye and thank you to Tavi Bota (on the right) – our local property finder in Romania – who has hosted me and my family for the past 7 days.

I have to say, these last 7 days were fascinating and hugely insightful due to Tavi’s invaluable knowledge and broad experienced (he is very widely travelled and studied in Oxford) plus his excellent contacts with top developers and the new Romanian business leadership meant we got access to high quality information and insights.

I’d just like to say thank you to everyone in Romania who made our trip so interesting and such fun – and thank you for being patient as I asked all my endless questions!

It is clear to me the Romania has a tremendous future ahead of it.

Of my trip, two things really stand out for me.

Firstly, the degree of sophistication and almost Germanic like business approach of the Transylvanian region will, I am sure, make it a key driver of economic success in the coming years.

Secondly, the dynamism of Bucharest.
