Hi there,

I want to change Sterling to Euro as I belive that Sterling will fall below the 80 cent mark ( I know I know I should have done it a month or so ago but better late than never) I was thinking of using a company called XEtrade on the net and wanted to know ifanyone else on here had ever used them and how they would rate their service.

I always use them to exchange GBP into EUR and PLN and to wire the money abroad.

Have been using them for a couple of years and have no complaints whatsoever. Once you get past the fairly tortuous sign up procedure, they are excellent.

You could use Currency Solutions, Property Secrets' preferred partner for currency exchange. You can find out more about them and email them an enquiry about costs by following this link:

Have had fairly good experience with both CurrencySolutions and XETrade. If you are planning on transferring a large amount (>10K) I would recommend calling both and haggling back and forth several times to get the best rate. If you don't haggle you can miss out on some serious savings. I've knocked them down several orders of magnitude on spreads in the past.

XETrade has a nice online facility too, but you may have to go through several rounds of haggling on the phone before they will set you with a good rate for your online transfers.

If you are planning on transferring smaller amounts, I would recommend Citibank if you are able to get an account with them - free, instant transfers online between any currencies you have accounts in, and the rates are generally almost as good as what you will get with one of the other services.
