Dear All, We bought a property in Romania (Autumn Residence in Baia Mare) and would like to know if anyone has already investigated what are the possibilities to open a bank account there to manage the property. Would be nice as well to get in contact with others that did buy in Baia Mare to share some info, ideas, suggestions. Thank you Emanuele

Dear Emanuele, I can reccommend a personal bank account with Raiffeisen bank (www.raiffeisenonline.ro) which offers a superb internetbanking facility (compared to other banks). You can open multiple currency accounts (in GBP / EURO / CHF / LEI / CAD etc etc) Benefits: * 24 / 7 online access to your personal accounts anywhere in the world! * Check your accounts balance and history; * Download the accounts history; * Transfer funds in LEI within and outside the bank (and / or order them to be processed automatically by the bank in the future) to your own accounts or third parties; * Transfer funds in foreign currencies to third parties within Raiffeisen (and / or order them to be processed automatically by the bank in the future) * Recurring payments; * Treasury payments; * Bill payments for suppliers agreed by the bank; * Set up or change Direct Debits for your bill payments; * Create and redeem Time deposits; * Foreign exchange and cross currency between your accounts within the bank; * Transfer money between your own accounts; * Pre-define beneficiaries for intra and inter – bank payments * Set up nick-names for your accounts; * Consult the on-line activity as client of Raiffeisen Online; * Communicate with the bank through a secure channel; * Choose your own username and password to log in to Raiffeisen Online At the bottom of the page you will see a small "english" option or use the following link http: / /raiffeisenonline .ro /index924f .htm And here the user guide in English http: / /raiffeisenonline .ro /ghid _utilizare924f .htm I hope this helps!

Hello Emanuele, I use Banca Transilvania for all my banking needs in Romania, business and personal. They offer all the services indicated by Easy Credit but best of all they have a flexible approach which is helpful when sorting out issues which are non standard. I have opened personal bank accounts for friends and colleagues with BT whilst on my travels in Romania on the basis of an authorisation letter and a photocopy of a passport without too much problem, but internet banking usually requires a personal visit. Hope that helps Alan

I have done business in Tirgu Mures for a few years, and would strongly recommend Unicredit Tiriac as a bank. I have recieved outstanding service from them. Perhaps they have a branch in Baia Mare
