I have bought in Bansko and returned today from my first week's ski holiday there. If you buy right in Bansko, you will do well. My apartments were completed on the 2nd of Decemeber and have been renting for every single day since completion apart from the week i have just taken. All the people renting my property were Bulgarian. There is an over supply of property at the moment, but as far as i could see its at the lower end of the scale. The lower priced properties. Mine are at the higher end of the scale, in a development with Sauna, Spa, Swimming Pool, Restaurant, Bar, Nightclub and top quality build quality. Which is exactly what the rich Bulgarian's are looking for. Its also 5 min walks to the main lift up to the mountains and the 5* Kempinski. As an ex ski instructor i can tell you there is more than enough skiing there at the moment for most people. The runs are kept very well and although there is a lack of snow there (like all europe), it is famous for off piste skiing, which sadly i couldnt do this year. The owner of the Kempinski keeps a helicpoter to take people heli skiing. There is also a new lift from the bottom going in and 2 valleys to develop into ski area to take it from 65km now, to 250km. I enjoy the resort, the people are great, it has so much charactuer, great restaurants and bars and they are all very busy. If you plan to go over i can give you the address of the best place in Bansko to eat. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere lively and the price of the bill we got at the end was superb. Its a bit of the tourist routes though. So as long as you are clever in your buying in Bansko, i think you will do well on rentals and appreciation. Find out what is over supplied and what is not. Hope that helps

Stimmers, Which rental/management company did you use to get your place fully rented?

The building i bought in is run like a hotel and they handle all the rentals themselves. They just pay me the money i have earnt from rent minus their 15% fee (which is actually not bad for everything included). It's one of the reason's i bought into the building. The building next door is handled in a similar manner and they seem very good at getting the wealthy Bulgarians in, especially over holidays and weekends. Sorry i cannot be of more help, but i have not done any research into rentals out there.

The Development i am in is called Dream. Its right next door to the Tamplier development which does a lot of advertising in the town. For those that know Bansko, its half way between the Kempinski and the Lion Hotel (very close to the Friendly Pub). The best restaurants in the Bansko in mainly all down near the main square. If your walking down to the square from the top. Go past the Lion pub on the right hand side and simply walk all the way down to the square, then just head of to the right on the cobble streets and all the good places, where the Bulgarians eat without tourist prices are down there. Unfortunatly i cannot tell you the name of the best restaurant, as i don't have the correct letters on my keyboard to type it. But its 'kown' as 1792. It has these letters outside on the main board. The phone number is 08888 44 9 44. Walking down from the top again, go to the left of the Lion pub at the folk and walk down the road next to the river. Its about 3 quarters of the way down on the right hand side, just after a big hotel. I forget the name. You have to walk in through a courtyard. Any Bulgarian will know it. It can't reccomend this place highly enough, the atmosphere and food are top notch and the prices are great too. Thanks

Oh and if any of you are footie fans. The friendly pub shows ALL the premiership games on a Sat LIVE. Have a different game on each screen. Something to do with Bulgarian Satallites. Come 5pm (2 hours on) it gets pretty busy.
