Beroun is very close to Karlstein Castle, beautiful walking country. I passed through on the train in 1984 on my way to Prague, truly the Iron Curtain days! It wasn't ever possible to imagine we could by anything in (what was then) Czechoslovakia.

It's a pleasant area and I could imagine it would be attractive from an investment viewpoiint too

Hi, yep, it is beautiful, boardered by forested rolling hills and a town centre that I always imagined Czech towns would look like. The thing is, its proximity to Prague 5 and the 17,000 jobs in Zlichin, its the best of both worlds. I got into the car at ICKMs offices in the old town at 4.30pm and was on site at 4.57pm. That amazed me first, as its taken me much longer to get to parts of the greater city (not even at rush hour). We have to accept that developers such as ICKM (now Crestyl) and their backing fund GE, dont go out buy land and put a 600 plus unit development up on a whim!! They know their market, they watch which way demand is swinging and they act. We have a P.S. deal coming up there shortly.
I once asked a developer "who designed the development?", he simply said "the people that buy them". Wise words indeed.

The 'quality of life' of people in CEE is now starting to emerge, and where else would you expect to see it first, but from the Czech's. It has pointed me in the direction of monitioring planning submissions in towns surrounding other capital cities in new Europe.

Kind Regards
