Foolishly I recently changed my bank, leaving me with very large charges if I wish to move money abroad. I sometimes have to do this to pay for various property related transactions as my flats in Poland and Slovakia are not cash flow positive. These transactions are small and ad hoc, so I cannot use someone like Currency Solutions.

Save moving back to my old bank, can anyone recommend anyone who will allow offer me value. My old bank charged £20, my new one £45, which is a great deal if you are only transferring £200!

£10 a go and a good rate. Don't think you will ever get good value transfering sums in the order of £200.

Try Foreign Currency Direct (website 'currencies') they have a Regular Payment Plan, I have not set it up yet but seems to be a good solution for covering negative cashflow CEE properties, of which I have quite a few !! :-)

How it works:
-Decide how much you would like to transfer in sterling each month. The minimum we will exchange is £300 per month. You can either request sterling to leave your bank account on the 1st or 15th of the month, and you should allow up to 10 working days from leaving your account before the payment is credited in the foreign account

-On the 7th and 21st of each month, any money received from your account will be converted at the prevailing rate that day and sent to the account as per your request.
