Finally - A realistic view of UK economy.

Assuming this was intended as a light-hearted swipe at the doom and gloom and NOT a personal attack, this was well written and very funny!

We hope Richard takes it in the manner we assume it was intended as well.

Ah it gets better by the minute!

Richard - I have an ingrained fascination in the stories of people. Please do tell...what's yours?

Right now I have an image of you sitting in your bedroom in your Mum's house, from where you're plotting to overthrow the world.

Sat at your computer you have one eye on the price of gold bullion, and the other on your watch, because it's nearly time for Mum to bring up your elevenses.

Under the bed, hidden amongst the other usual stuff that naughty boys keep there, you have some gold, and whenever you lift the bed's vallance, and dazzling ray of light emerges bathing your bedroom in a warm glow.

When you're not under the bed, you spend your days trying to ramp the price of gold by posting doom-laden missives on imminent consumer crashes, housing meltdown and general economic chaos in an effort to tip the world's economy. You regularly break to gel up the front of your hair, as you model your look on the teenage villain from The Incredibles.

When global meltdown finally happens, as the world populus stands around scratching its collective heads and wondering where it all went so wrong, you'll set off. Armed with little more than a school napsack full of gold and some of Mum's sandwiches, you'll make your carefully planned trip across the Eastern bloc to rendez vous with your Hungarian developer.

When you meet him you'll say in fluent Hungarian, 'Exactly as I predicted everything I warned off has come to pass' before handing over your gold and being shown you to your new Hungarian penthouse pad.

From here you'll initiate stage 2 of your world domination plan (tho I might add that given current slow progress this may involve you putting everything on hold while you try to locally source a reasonably priced kitchen)

Of course, I'm sure your Mum knows nothing of any of this.

Am I right?

Please do take this post in the manner it's intended by the way. After all, any plan is better than no plan ;-

Best and good luck

Dan

Oh how quickly people forget ...... it was just a year ago that PS was predicting another booming year for UK economy for this year ........

Why do i say the the things i Do - because If i see something I dont agree with I speak up and more often than not im usually right.

And for those who say the credit crunch could not have been predicted are FOOLS.

But you are right ...... I no longer need to say what I say since what I said would happen has and all we can do now is ride it out.

Hi Kevin

I make no comment on your views on Richard's apocalyptic posts; BUT I would simply like to say that your comment below is, to my mid, spot on:

"We are entering an exciting period of property investment, one which all but the most naive knew was going to happen. The first chapter of property investment is about cycles and it has been obvious for several years that the bubble is near the top.

"I would think that most of the subscribers to Property Secrets have understood this and have been planning for it and will be reviewing the auction listings as we speak and for the next year or two."

I think of it as bit like a ride in a jumbo jet, knowing there's turbulence on the way. The seatbelt sign is on and it's going to be a bit unpleasant for a while - maybe even really bumpy - but we'll come out of it and land safely.

Cheers
