I was in Berlin at the end of August on an MRI property "fact finding tour" Unfortunately the city struck me as "having no soul" and I agree it did seem deserted. The MRI people were offering properties in the more fashionable parts of the city eg charlottenberg. A company called Dr Okel, who had acquired large blocks of properties in the 50s were apparently seeling these off and moving into property managment. I think the idea was that they were using German law to increase rents by upgrading the properties and keeping half for management fees - the other half fo the rent was to go to the purchaser and would have covered the mortgage costs. After reading the summary about Berlin it does sound like there is a real risk of making no money! Anybody else have experience of MRI?

There was an article in the FT over a month ago that mentioned the funds that have pulled out and why.I've got it somewhere, I'll dig it out if you are interested.
