Hi, What are peoples thoughts on Greece? I would like to buy somewhere there as a holiday home. I know that the beach/holiday home isn't investment type property but I want to buy and be sure the market hasnt peaked. Any ideas on capital appreciation on the Greek Islands?

Hi Tom, I can only really comment on Crete, especially the south east part. I am buying a holiday home/investment in a place called "Makriyialos". The development is called Bay View. I visited the area to look at an investment which I would use occasionally myself. After being there a couple of days I decided I would use it and only rent it out to close friends occasionally. Lots of good quality development by a UK company and new airport at Sitia will be 30mins away which will open up this side of the island. Crete always seems to be the poor relation to cyprus, but for this reason I believe there is a lot of potential and it still has a lot of charm. Rentals in the area are good too. Only 2 hotels nearby and both full all through the holiday season. hope this helps
