Can anyone recommend inexpensive hotels in Brno and in Katowice and/or Krakow. I'm going to a wedding in Slovakia and want to have a little tour around to look at my flats. Will be driving. Any ideas? Thanks!

every time i stay in krakow I rent an apartment in a high spec new building from AAA apartments, you can find them on the web and the prices are better tahn a hotel.

Hi Re Brno Of the ones that can be found at http: / /www .booking .com/ I have stayed at the A-Austerlitz Best Western. This was considerably better than the very cheap one I stayed at in the town cente. You get what you pay for. The austerlitz is showing at about 85 euro for a single, the cheapie was about £20/night - would be hard pushed to recommend it though. Not sure how the economics would work if driving, but my usual stopping off point when visitng Bratislava or Brno has been the ETAP in Vienna which part of the Accor hotel chain. Suspect parking is extra, but the sightseeing is a lot better !. HTH Mike

Thanks to you both for the tips. I'm going to the Civil Ceremony in Vienna first then have a week until the wedding in Trnava. Might use your Vienna ETAP suggestion. Is that like a Travel Lodge? Did you use trains then to get from Vienna to Brno? How are they? Might be nicer than my non ac little Fiesta in August! Still, did quite fancy the drive and stopping off where we fancy. Thanks!

Whenever I travel abroad I always go to "trip advisor" for informal non biased hotel reviews. Then you can pick from a league table according to budget and number of positive reviews........never been disappointed yet. Regds Alan

Good idea, thanks. Have found a couple of recommendations on Trip Advisor. Shame i couldn't stay at my flat in Poland but with the ever changing handover dates, it looks unlikely!
