Lynn, Have you obtained local mortgages on your CEE properties; if so, how did you overcome the Polish banks reluctance to lend to property investors and have you any tips on the best banks to approach. Regards Alan

Hi Lynn I would be very interested in your views about investing in Tunisia: 1. What sort of real estate are u normally after in Tunisia, i.e. residential or touristic resorts? 2. What sort of areas / cities? 3. Have you managed to secure local mortgages as I hear the interest rates are quite high down there and the LTV ratio quite low. 4. Do you reckon Tunisia is the next big thing in the mediterranean, after Morocco and Egypt, for the British investors? Your feeback would be highly appreciated. C

Hi C. I already have 4 properties in Tunisia. This is for the local market in Tunis near the airport for the local and expats. Furnished and rented.I recommend that you wait until the dinar is covertible in 2008. The interests rate had dropped from 11% to 8% and will drop further in the years to come. They are building a huge airport between Sousse and Hammamet which will be the largest in Africa.Toursim is booming as it is their main source of income. This is not a Islamic state and anyone that is goes imm to prison.Dont forget that Malta is s tone throw away as well as Sicilly,Italy only 150km from Bizerte,N. Tunisia.
