You should be able to get a quote at less than £1.70 per £1000 of property from many specialised landlord firms. If you find a quote at higher than that, keep looking. You can also get really good rates if you are a member of a landlord organisation. Most local landlord associations attract block insurance deals from well known brokers and insuerers. The insurance premium saving is often enough to offset the cost of membership, which means you get other membership benefits for free. It promises to save at least 5% on any similar product as long as you have 15 or more properties and a portfolio of £2m so I presume you will qualify. It would be interesting to see how you get on.
