Andy,
I know that PS won't give other memebers contact details, however, i would hope they will allow details of accountants etc to be posted. I am fairly sure this happens quite regularly on the forum.
Also, i fully understand that you are not qulified to give advise but an expression of your understanding of a situation i would hope is acceptable.
Cheers.
Alex.

Ok well my accountant is Asta Jaruseviciene. She is Managing Partner of the Baltic Accountancy firm 'FMG'.
You can mail her on: **REMOVED **
If you tell her you came via myself you should get a response.
The basic situation that any properties registered in the land book from this month must be help for a minimum of 3 years to be free from CGT. It used to be 1 year. This legislation is not retrospective - i.e. if you bought property before this time then the previous 1 year only rule applies.
For those people with a second property in Latvia, the stamp duty payable increases from 1% to 3%. There is also an increae in land book charges.
These are the most significant changes.
Thanks
Andy Knell

Hi David,
I am aware of the terms and conditions of the PS website and forum as you will see from my comments in the above thread.
However, I suggest that PS consider reviewing its terms and conditions to provide certain exceptions. I do not see there being any problem in providing the details of a legitimate accountant specialising in a certain market. Unless we (the members of this forum) are IFA qualified or equivalent, then we should not be advising / commenting on this type of information.
I would appreciate a word from Neil in this regard.
Thanks
Andy

Latvia stamp duty was always 2%, not 1% - that's what I paid anyway!

Yes your right its 2% of sale value - hopefully that demonstrates the point about getting advice from an accountant.
