My parents have inherited a small 2 bed house in Cornwall in need of a fair amount of modernisation. Unfortunatly it's lease is due to expire in about 3 years. Does anyone have any words of wisdom I can pass onto them regarding the lease? They have been told that they can arrange to extend it at the same time as they sell the house but would it be better for them to raise the finance themselves and buy the lease before selling (I guess letting it out might also be an option at this point.) My dad is a professional decorator but isn't sure if it's worth renovating a house with only a 3 year lease? Thanks in advance!
