After what seems to be a long and difficult process, I visited my completed apartment at Olimpia in Warsaw for the first time this week. I must admit I went there full of apprehension but I can genuinally say I am absolutley delighted with the results. The apartment was built by Dom Developments to a higher standard than I expected. It appears light and spacious with good quality fittings etc. Although expensive. the kitchen is excellent being fitted to a very good standard.

My thanks to Monika and her colleague for their welcome who collected me from my hotel and afforded me all the time I needed. With tenants due to sign on the dotted line in the next few days I feel alot more positive about the apartment than I did a couple of months ago.

Thanks for that RJV

Great to hear you are happy with the finish of the apartment and kitchen finish. It proves the importance of working with established developers that will deliver an excellent product.

Good to see you will have your unit rented out shortly. Keep us updated with how this goes for you.

Hi RJV and Noreen,

I guess it is important to work with big developers in Poland..
Is the general consensus that you need to be patient when buying property in Warsaw and Poland in general? It doesn´t seem to be for the faint-hearted anyway..

For example, I´m in limbo at the moment, I bought a flat from a big Warsaw developer in January 2007 and building permission hasn´t been granted yet! I don´t get any regular updates from company and sales representative who sold me the flat has left the company so I have to chase everything up.. Have other people suffered similar long waits for their Polish flats to get building permission and to be finished?

I´ll be going grey by the time this one is finished i think.. 1 year and 2 months later and i´m still waiting for the first block to be laid! Have paid 10% down and have 4 stage payments more.

Cheers,

Liam
