I have just sold my Flat in Poland and need to convert the pln in my Nordea account back to £. How have other investors found this process ? Yes, it's relatively straightforward but from experience who is offering good rates ? Appreciate any help. Regards P

I use Currency Solutions for all my trades. Easy to deal with and competitive rates. You can find their details in any PS investment report.

Good luck.

Out of interest would you be prepared to share the 'financials' in this transaction?

Thanks

I recently recieved a rate of 4.22 PLN to the £1.00 on 60,000 PLN from a kantor (exchange shop in Poland) that beat the exchange rate of my FX company by 0.15 a saving of around £600 so only problem was I was left with £14,218 in hard cash.

You can open a Sterling account attached to your Polish bank account and transfer from bank (Polish) to bank (UK), well you can with BZWBK anyway.

In a slightly unrelated issue, I have found BZWBK to be very disappointing in arranging international money transfers via the internet.

I have had 50000PLN disappear into a black hole after I gave an invalid IBAN number. I would have expected this to be immediately bounced back to my account, but 2 months later there is no sign of it and communication with the bank consists of them telling me to go to Poland and we can discuss it there.

Another transfer (with a correct IBAN this time thankfully) took 3 weeks to arrive at my currency broker, and I had to make other arrangements make the payment (deposit on a Czech development) from the UK.
