Hi Yes we used The Polish consulate in Dublin. You have to have an appointment but it was all straight forward. With the bank account, we set one up with Nordea only to find out we didnt really need it. The mortgage Provider we have automatically sets up a current account from which it takes the payments. However due to a commplication with our mortgage providers using 2 swift codes as they use a Correspondent bank. Trying to make transfers from Ireland using 2 Swift codes seems a bit of a nightmare. So now we transfer from Ireland To Nordea, then from Nordea to the account the mortgage people set up.

I have used two notaries in bristol. Both were fine. I think the most professional was the company below. Gregg Latchams, 7 Queen Sq, 0117 906 9400 I don't have the phone no of the second by you can probably google the name Steven Gisbey and should find it (located on park st.) There was a polish consulate in bristol too but apparently the bloke had a heart attack and died a week before I went in to get something stamped.

Our foreign workers, all have to open new accounts in the UK, as their own country bank is not recognised here, and they cannot withdraw money from it.

Jo, You only need the forms stamped by a consulate. In fact anyone will do. I'm also from your part of the world and used the Norweigan Consulate in Belfast. They were very helpful. rgds Garfield
