Does anyone know how i could find the latest FDI figures for other CEE country's? I have been looking at Albania but the only FDI numbers I can find are for 2004 or 2005. Martin

Hi Martin While we don't have overall FDI figures for FDI in Albania, I'm fairly sure our FDI Monitor has included Albania once or twice - look back through the older articles (via the current one). They aren't the easiest figures to get hold of!

Came across this article today:- FDI in Serbia at EUR 11bn since 2000 7 December 2007 Foreign direct investment in Serbia has in the past seven years reached EUR 11bn, a report says. The Center for Liberal Democratic Studies (CLDS) has published a report on Greenfield investment in Serbian industry, showing that foreign investment has hit new highs this year and last, totaling some EUR 7bn. According to 2007 projections, Serbia will attract EUR 471 per citizen of direct investment, which is above the average of EUR 365 for eastern European countries, but less than half of the EUR 1,031 per citizen that Montenegro is expected to attract. In terms of investment, Montenegro is the leader in the region, with Croatia in second place with EUR 639 per citizen, and Serbia third. Montenegro is ahead of all transitional countries in central, eastern and south-eastern Europe, and is followed by Estonia with EUR 954 per citizen. Serbia’s leading Greenfield investor is Austrian mobile company Mobilkom, which has thus far invested EUR 320mn and has announced a further EUR 250mn. It is followed by Slovenian Merkator with EUR 240mn, German Metro Cash and Carry, and Austrian OMV with EUR 150mn each.
