Hi Dave I’m surprised you’re experiencing difficulty letting you’re apartment at € 450.00 per month. That sounds like a reasonable price to me in the current market I have a 1 Bed apartment at the Unity (currently €400.00 per month) and I’ve advised Vlads to increase the rent to €500 per month when the current contract expires. PD

How long has your apartment been empty?

Thanks Neil. I'll give Sirta a shot first. And may get back to you about how I can find Valentina! Regards, Dave

I hope i'm not breaking any forum rules, but try Linda at Shoreline Investments in Riga. I've known them for a while and they are very efficient and professional. They recently let two units both unfurnished for me (which is a lot harder then furnished units in this market).

Hi PD. I actually had it rented for €400 per month in the spring but then decided to put it on the market. Of course the market has gone slightly pear shaped since so I've had to take it off and try renting again. This obviously isn't working out too well either at the moment. Its been 7 months since I received any rent.

If its central you could think of doing short term lets 1 - 28 days. This is particularly good in the summer with so many tourists. Some of the more entrepeneurial Rigans may be interested in doing this with you and it also means you can have it on the market at the same time. I hae some contacts but not sure if it breaks any rules on PS. Also they would only be intros - not recommendations.

Thanks Neil. The apartment is in the residential suburb of Ziepniekkalns so I can't see it having the type of appeal as something in the old town or a more prestigious suburb. I would be interested if any of the other PS clinets of the Unity deal have had any success with short term lets though? I would still appreciate any intro's you could give me though. If PS will allow it of course...

My two unfurnished lets, mentioned previously, were in Ziepnikalns (they are not Unity). Alex.
