Hi all,

Saw some very interesting discussions on the Poland Kitchen thread (http: / /www .propertysecrets .net /forum /kitchens _in _poland /9508 /30215 .html). Just wondering if anyone has similar issues with Romania kitchens?

My studio unit at Residenz Constanta is due to complete soon, and iPA quoted the kitchen would cost around 4300 - 4600 Euros (not sure if this includes VAT or not, I am assuming not). This sounds quite expensive to me, about 10% of the unit price.

I was told the company that provides the kitchens is called HAKA, apparently they did the kitchens for Quadra place too. So I just want to know has anyone seen the kitchens installed by HAKA at Quadra place, how much did they charge and was it worth the money? Or has anyone sourced their kitchen themselves in Romania? If so which company was it and how was the quality?

Thanks in advance.
Simon

Simon,

Please have a look at the HAKA website (in English)

http: / /www .haka .ro /en /index .asp

Which kitchen model will be installed? (does it include appliances?)

Hi Simon,

I have been quoted 3000 euros (including fitting) for a full kitchen for my studio in My Dream residence.

This is from the developer. I do not know what iPA are quoting because I have not yet decided to take their LCS.

Perhapse someone from iPA could give me a quote for a fully fitted studio kitchen, then if they are competetive I will take the LCS. If there is no response, I guess we have our answer.

Slightly naughty of PS to now remove the wording made on the 2nd post on this thread from a very knowledgeable broker/partner on the ground that was replying to the 1st post where he indicated that the cost quoted by iPA 'was far too much'.....or something along those lines.

Better to come up with a constructive justification and detailed breakdown of why your costs are as quoted and how the economies of scale reflect lower costs compared with alternative suppliers on a like for like basis in terms of quality (if indeed this is the case which it should be).

I hope we don't have the same issues again regarding value for money kitchens costs and transparency with Romanian kitchens as we are having with Polish Kitchens!

I think that removed post had a link to an alternative supplier. And PS tends to remove posts like that. I think this happened on the polish kitchen thread as well.

Simon

There was no link to another supplier in that post (that was on another thread re Alternative Polish suppliers where the company name was removed)

Don't know where you live or how you get on in Romania/Romanian language, but I lived in Romania for 2 years and renovated a number of properties and can tell you that it had better some kind of an amazing kitchen for 3500!!! I had big kitchens made from cherry wood for 850. Appliances extra, approx 2/3 of UK costs.

Total should be maybe 1200-2000 depending on price ( for a big kitchen).

I appreciate that this may be of no use to you if you live in the UK somewhere and are not capable of contracting a local cabinet maker, but it will give you an idea of real prices. Of course a developer will try to mark it up nicely, but maybe you could get someone in romania to organise it? A local estate agent maybe?

Hope this is of some use.

I have been visiting Romania for 10 or 11 years and renovated property there for 2 years. Still in the business now so feel free to ask me any questions about other topics if you have them.
