Apologies if this has been done before but can anyone recommend a bank in Bratislava?

I'm going out for the weekend next month and just need to open a simple current account. Also, does anyone know whether the banks are open on a Saturday?

Thanks

Tatrabanka - very easy to open an account - just went into the bank in the centre - and very simple and easy to use on line.

Hi Rob

I found Eva at Hypocentrum to be very efficient, happy to recommend them.

I'm not sure if they open on Saturdays. Should be able to see on their website.

I've got accounts with Tatra Banka and OTP. Both are fine, although neither have savings accounts - you have to put money into fixed term 'deposits' if you want to earn any interest.

Also, I would check with Tatra or whoever before your arrival about the procedure for delivering online banking passwords. When I opened my account with Tatra, the password would only turn up a week later, and you could only collect it from the branch. This was very awkward, and resulted in me having to collect it on another visit to Bratislava. Perhaps this policy has changed now, but it's probably worth checking. Many other banks in europe (including OTP) will give you the password on the day.

Dear All

Don't forget that Star Capital Finance and also Czech finance do offer mortgages in the Slovak Republic.

http: / /www .propertysecrets .net /mortgage -quote .html

Please check, if you are applying for a mortgage now in Three Towers, how long the mortgage offer is valid for. The development from the latest information is not due to complete until March 09 and the final payment as stated by the deal lawyers is due 5 days from registration from ownership. This means that the final payment will not be due at the point of completion.

Kindest regards
Debbie
