With the availability of 90% finance now in Slovakia (see post by Antony on Bucharest thread), any thoughts on whether this will help to stimulate capital growth - which has lagged behind Poland somewhat over the last 12 - 18 months.
Presumably it is logical to assume that this would be the case.
Cheers,
Dave.

90% is great news. If you go to Bratislava the place is buzzing and will be transformed over the next 10 years. Capital growth will definitely follow (pretty much everywhere lags behind Poland currently).

I recently heard from someone who bought a few apartments from the same agent that I did in Bratislava. Aparently he had been contacted and asked to put them back on the market. He was guaranteed 20% more than he paid from them. This is in the space of about 1 year.
These are old stock apartments in BA I.

Hi guys,
I've spoken to a contact in Bratislava who has an intimate knowledge of the local market. She says that a maximum of 70% LTV finance remains available for foreign investors.
Has anyone from PS clarified the position on this? In the meantime, I'll try to do some more digging.
Regards,
Dave.

Capital Finance are offering 90% in slovakia, I was the guinea pig, but failed. I have found Bratislava the most difficult to obtain mortgages.

Dear All
Thank you for your post.
I would suggest speaking to Paul Wild at Star Capital Finace who is on of the brokers noted in our packs. They have stated that there is a possibility of obtaining a higher loan to value.
His contact details are; Paul Wild, 0871 711 9403, or p.wild@scfinance.cz
Kindest regards
Debbie

what sort of rates are they qouting?
Is there still the end payment issue as well? I was told that it is standard in Slovak mortgages to have to pay a fairly high redemption payment at the end of it - not just if you want out early!
