I've posted at (boring) length about why I feel Slovakia has the best fundamentals for a while and no time more so than now (low interest rates, high growth, reducing unemployment, high foreign investment, huge develoment/infrastructure improvements etc etc). Even the rental market seems to be springing to life. I feel in my water that the next phase of prooperty price growth is about to begin! It seems to have gone off the radar of PS since the III Towers deal - can you guys confirm if you are looking there, what your current views are of the country etc. Thanks Huw

Ooops sorry about previous post, just wanted to add that I also agree that the fundamentals and the mainly locally supported market in particular outside Bratislava all look good. Im therfore also very interested in any news of forthcoming deals in Slovakia.

Hi Hew and KPM I know that our Analyst team share your view about a 2nd phase of growth in Slovakia in 2008 - much like we are witnessing right now in Prague and other areas of Czech Republic. If you haven't seen the commentary on 2008 price forecasts, its worth a read http: / /www .propertysecrets .net /article /read _property _secrets _2008 _market _forecasts _in _full _as _featured _in _the _sunday _times /1831 .html In fact, our brokers have recently visited the country to see for themselves and started looking for any potential deals. So without any promises or actual time scales, we could well be seeing some PS deals in Slovakia in the first few months of 2008. cheers Tim

I would agree with you there guys. Ive just bought 2 in Ruzinov- the main business district adjacent to the old town (about 200m closer than III Towers). I feel I was very lucky to get the units i bagged there as each release is selling like hot cakes and they are increasing the prices with each batch they release. High quality, well located new builds in Bratislava are certainly not cheap and there are still not very many. I would advise people interested in BA to start doing their homework as soon as possible while there is still good value to be had. There are not too many good agents over there It took me a few months of research before i was confident enough to buy direct from developer. As for other towns in Slovakia eg. Trnava + zlina there is still time. Actually, i recently canceled a reservation on a new build in Trnava as although it was cheap, i felt my money could work harder somewhere else in the short term. Happy hunting!
