What does a 0.5% base rate mean for UK property?

Unprecedented times! A 0.5% interest base rate, £75 BILLION of cash to be pumped into the economy...we've never seen the like. More importantly, we don't know what effect it will have. The boost the economy needs? Rampant inflation? None at all?

Let's face it, only time will tell. As property investors though, we need to consider the impact a 0.5% base rate has on us. Our PSonProperty blog this week takes an in depth look. It's already sparked off a discussion.

In other news, we take a look at what landlords can do to protect themselves from non-paying tenants. This is likely to become an increasing problem in this economic downturn as jobs are lost and ability to pay is reduced. Could insurance be the answer?
