Billions from EU funds for Warsaw

According to the latest figures, between May 2004 and June 2009 Warsaw received PLN6.7 billion (~€1.5 billion) from the EU funds. Deputy Mayor of Warsaw estimates that the city is a leader among Polish cities in raising EU funds.
Currently, in Polish capital city there are 104 projects co-financed by the EU, which are totally worth PLN14 billion (~€3.2 billion). Most of the projects are in road infrastructure and in public transport.
Among them the key projects are: construction of the second metro line, construction of the Most Północny (The North Bridge) and renovation of Al. Jerozolimskie.
