Russian property investors are increasingly choosing to snap up residences in Bulgaria, analysts have revealed.

According to the BuyAssociation website, the eastern European country is attracting a growing number of wealthy Russian buyers.

The online portal said the middle classes are keen to take advantage of the attractions which have made Bulgaria a popular hotspot for Britons in particular.

BuyAssociation stated that this is helping to bolster the Bulgarian market at a time in which demand among people from the UK is cooling.

"They are seeking to acquire the trappings of wealth that they have seen enjoyed by British buyers across Europe's holiday destinations," it commented.

The website added that the Black Sea coastal resorts are proving to be especially popular with investors from Russia.

According to a recent study by Global Edge, more than a fifth of Russian investors have searched for information on the Bulgaria market online.
