The Czech Republic is attracting a high amount of foreign direct investment from Japan, an analyst has revealed.
Lucie Kralova, spokesperson for the CzechInvest agency, said the Japanese are the second-most active group of foreign investors in the country, reports the Prague Daily Monitor.
She stated that more than 200 companies from the Asian country operate in the Czech Republic, including real estate firms, traders and research and development specialists.
In addition, she revealed that manufacturers such as electronics producer Panasonic have also established bases in the region.
"There are now 239 Japanese firms active in the Czech Republic," Ms Kralova commented.
She added that interest in the country among Japanese businesses is continuing to grow, making it one of the most sought-after markets in Europe.
South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has also recently opted to invest in the Czech Republic.
The company's new plant, which is based in Nosovice, is geared towards building the i30 model in Europe, as it is currently manufactured at a factory in Seoul.
