Buying at the off plan stage is an attractive investment option for those hoping for capital appreciation in a short space of time (i.e. 1 or 2 years). Purchasing prior to a builds completion, or at the start of the developments construction  can secure you a huge discount with end values soaring sometimes as much as 50% or higher.

A more risky strategy perhaps, as many developers will use cash from investors buying early to help fund construction but the rewards are greater and can be achieved quicker than a usual buy to let.
